A Good Old Fashioned Quilting Bee

We've been talking about having a quilting bee for a long time, and it finally happened. This weekend all the girls from the family that live in town were invited to Grandma Kays for a quilting bee. They could bring a quilt if they had one that need to be put together and we all worked on them.

Grandma, Robin, Crystal, Dana, Tama, Colleen, Ellen and girls, Linda, me and all the little young ones were there. We set up two sets of stands and started tying quilts. (I know it's a quilting bee, but we though we'd start with the basics, putting them on, tying, taking them off and binding). The little kids played on the swings and the tramp and watched.

Of course we forgot to take pictures until we were nearly done. We started on a quilt for Caberiel that Tama brought. It turned out really cute.

We took a break at noon and had a potluck lunch of salads, chips and drinks. Then we put on a levi quilt Robin was doing for Travis and Stef for camping.

And we finished off with a quilt for Crystal.

They all turned out good and if you know us at all, you can bet that there was a lot of laughing and giggling and we had a good time. We even think we'd like to do it again next year.
