Band Concert May 2009

Just thought I ought to post some pictures of the band concert from last week. I had a hard time getting a good shot of Joel, Sade was standing behind him with the other percussion players, waiting for her turn.
Jarell was sitting at the back too, but I did manage to get this shot of him playing. He played the baritone the first half of the year and then switched to the tenor sax.

They played some sweet music!

Spring on the Mountain

This weekend Dan and I went to the mountain with some friends that were here visiting. We had a great time and I took some pictures with my new camera of the spring flowers and the wildlife.
We wanted to see some deer or other big animals, but had to be content with the lizard and a cute little chipmunk. I was surprised how many colors of beautiful flowers we saw.
I am so grateful for our beautiful Blue Mountain.

What a great world we live in!

Ending of the 2009 School Year

It just seems that time is going by faster and faster. Jayd is all set to graduate next week. We went to Kara and had her take some of the coolest pictures, so I thought I would post a couple of my favorite ones. Doesn't he look so grown up, (sniff, sigh)

So next week he will be all graduated. I'm just glad he will be staying with us next school year while he finishes his Associate degree at the local college. We'll enjoy all the time we spend with him. There was a band and choir concert last night and we were able to go and enjoy watching Jarell, Talia, Sara, Sade and Joel all play their instruments. It was held outside in the wind, so it was very entertaining watching them chase their music and try to concentrate with the wind flipping the pages back and forth, but it was very enjoyable. The choir concert was held in the little arena theater and Jayd sang the solo he did at competition. Then there was a surprise on the program, because he also was the guest conductor for one of the songs. Mrs. J has enjoyed having him in her class and said he has been a great help all year. Just eight more days of school! Summer here we come!
